| Team Aguida (of East Timor) |
Hearts of Gold supports the activity of Team Aguida. Team Aguida has made efforts to raise awareness of joy of sports among young people in the very difficult situations, politically and financially since the Independence of the country in 2002.
*Ms Aguida Amaral is one of the first East Timor Olympic athletes who participated in the Sydney Olympics as a marathon runner. Team Aguida is a sporting club established to give nearly 100 children dreams and hope through sports. It also aims to help their own country, East Timor revive and prosper. The children of Team Aguida
work very hard to be Olympic athletes in the future. But the young athletes
don't have proper training shoes. They don't have simple athletic equipment
like stop watches or starting blocks.
