Heart Parent (foster parent)

There are signs of recovery finally in Cambodia with various supports after the long civil war and slaughter, having a lot of land mine victims in the past and still now. However, the gap between the rich and poor has been expanded in this country. As for the population, about half is children, and due to poverty there are so many children who are struggling to make a living and unable to get an education.

The Heart Parent activity started to give as many children as possible a chance to be educated because it is of utmost important to develop human resources who are the bearers of this country's future.

It is Hearts of Gold (HG)'s purpose to give a chance of education and support financially by which children grow strong and healthy. It seems to be a great hope for Heart Child (fostered children) to have Heart Parent living in Japan who is concerned about him/her.

Heart Parent activity does not pursue an adoption. HG seeks for help from people who support children in the Child Care Center. Children to be supported are chosen in cooperation with a local cooperative organization, Leucaena Comunication Japonesea sequentially.

If you become Heart Parent:

Heart Parent:
  1. receives photographs, letters and/or pictures of Heart Child sent by Leucaena, to be able to watch the child grow up through those.
  2. does support/interacting activity in cooperation with the organization, Leucaena.
  3. exchanges letters with Heart Child (voluntary). Parent can visit the Child Care Center to see Heart Child by HG study tour to Cambodia.

We ask you to support the child until his/her self-reliance as long as possible.

* We solicit for Heart Parent only in Japan at present. We welcome donation for this activity from countries other than Japan.
