Hearts of Gold (HG) has engaged in supportive activities for Cambodian
Disabled Athletics Federation (CDAF) as a project of promotion of sports
for the disabled since 1998 when HG established. The main project is Angkor
Wat International Half Marathon.
There are many disabled people in Cambodia. HG support CDAF aiming to realize
a society where disabled people do their exercises regularly, take care
of their health and live positively.
Recently HG has launched joint project with other groups and expanded the
range of activities. HG has also started to help CDAF get organized. |
| Pilot project term: |
The first year (April 1999 – March 2000)
HG started a pilot project. (HG solicited applicants of Marathon. HG gave
short-term running training programs) |
| Phase 1: |
5-year project (April 2000-March 2005)
HG continued to engage in pilot project. (HG gave intensified training
to applicants. HG set up training course for beginners. HG established
Cambodia Amateur Athletics Federation (CAAF) during this phase, and raised
the numbers of these groups. |
| Phase 2: |
5-year project (April 2005-March 2010)
HG support to improve the activity contents (human resource development)
and to strengthen the facilities of the Federation (construcion support).
Moreover, HG carry out the enhancement of organization by alternation of
internal structure. The name CAAF was altered to Cambodian Disabled Athletics
Federation (CDAF) during this phase. THe 3rd phase is underway. |
